Richard Lamont Nelson

Richard Lamont Nelson October 28,1942 -November 25,2019

Richard Lamont Nelson passed away on November 25, 2019 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He died peacefully with loved ones near his side. He leaves behind his beloved wife Alaine, daughters Valerie (Bill)Russell, Amee (Aaron)Denny, Kelene (James)Baxter,12 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and many close friends and associates.
Richard was born October 28, 1942 to June and Winifred Nelson in Los Angeles California. He was raised in Brigham City Utah where he attended Box Elder High School and was a member of the class of 1960. He made many great memories in high school and made many lifelong friends. He attended Weber State College and Utah State University and received his bachelor's degree from Utah State University. He later sat for the CPA exam and became a Certified Public Accountant.
Richard married his high school sweetheart Alaine Halling June 26, 1964 in the Logan Utah Temple. Packing up a green Chevy with all their earthly possessions they moved to Southern California and Richard began his career as a banker. While in California they enjoyed long car rides and visits to the beach and learned to rely on each other. But they were anxious to return to be near family in Utah and Richard accepted jobs with North Davis Bank, later Commercial Security Bank and then Key Bank. He retired as President of Key Bank in 1998. Following his banking career he worked for the Larry H. Miller Group as President of the Automotive Divison until 2009. 
Richard had many interest. He was an avid snowmobiler and loved the speed and freedom of flying down a snowy road or climbing a steep hill. He made many lasting friendships thru snowmobiling. He loved old cars and restored a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air and a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette to original pristine condition. He spent many weekends in Lake Powell and later Bear Lake boating and waterskiing with friends and family. He taught many teenagers the fine art of slalom skiing. He loved taking his grandchildren out on the boat with their friends and took pleasure in giving them a tube ride they would never forget. Spending time with his family at Bear Lake was always a great pleasure. Family was the most important thing to him. 
Richard was preceeded in death by his parents June Lamont Nelson and Winifred Phillips. He is survived by one sister Patricia McGuire and one brother Phillips (Karla) Nelson and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday November 30, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Canyon Woods Ward Chapel at 1085 North 50 East, Kaysville,Utah. Friends may visit with the family Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Lindquist's Layton mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah  and Saturday morning 9:30 to 10:30 at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers take your family to dinner and leave the waitress a big tip, to continue his legacy.

Darwin Lamar Bywater

Darwin Lamar Bywater died May 9, 2019, in Newton Utah of heart failure. Darwin was born in Brigham City, Utah on January 30, 1942, the youngest son of Milton Alfred Bywater and Lilas Simper Bywater. He attended Bear River Elementary School and Box Elder High School in Brigham City, class of 1960. Darwin was an avid horseman and in his early years loved to follow the rodeos competing as a bareback, saddle bronc, and bull rider. He served in the Utah National Guard from 1960 to 1964.
He married Betty McMurtrey in 1965 and made his home in East Bear River City until they divorced in 1992. He raised two children, son Jay, and daughter Cherie. He loved supporting his children in high school activities and 4-H. He bred and raised thoroughbred quarter horses that were raced in chariot competition by himself, his son and daughter, and together they won many championships including the Utah State Chariot Racing Championship in 1985, with Jay as the driver. Darwin also donated his time for many years to race his chariot teams for the Jackson Hole Shriner's Children's Hospital charity benefits. Darwin worked as a transport driver and heavy equipment operator, building bridges, roads, airport runways, and dams. He retired as a Teamster in 1995.
After a 36-year separation, he married his high school sweetheart, Darla Rockwood on March 26, 1996. They made their home in Lynn, Utah and Newton, Utah. In 1999, Darwin and Darla established the Almo Creek Outpost, a popular steakhouse restaurant, and lodge in Almo, Idaho, which they built and operated until 2006. It was a labor of love for them both, a major highlight of their new life together and they enjoyed meeting people who came from all over the world to visit the City of Rocks National Reserve in Almo. They made many new friends, as well as enjoying visiting with old friends.
Darwin is survived by his wife Darla; his son Jay D. Bywater (Shelley), two grandsons Jay Dylan Bywater (Grace) and Spencer Gene Bywater, a great-grandson Horace Lamar Bywater, a daughter Cherie Bywater, and one older brother, Milton S. Bywater (Marie). He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Max Bywater (Roberta), brother Marvin E. Bywater (Carolyn) and Harold D. Bywater (Marchine).
Darwin requested there be no funeral or memorial service and that his friends and family remember him as he was in life. Any condolences for family can be sent to Gillies Funeral Chapel. Donations in his memory may be made to the Salt Lake City Shriner's Children's Hospital.

Brigham City-Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Diona Mace Perry, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on January 17, 2019.
She is survived by her children: Justin Norman, Dallene Bracken (Marc Gleason), Angel Ringstad, Lynn (Kari) Perry; sisters: Janace (Adrian) Nelson & Connie (Ken) Gilbert; brother, Bret (Tina) Mace; ex-husband Ed Nyden; 24 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren.
Diona was welcomed home by her husband George Perry whom she was sealed to in the Ogden Temple; ex-husband Dallas Norman; her parents Harvey & Iona Mace; her children Dem Norman, Kent Perry, Lyle Perry, & Karen Misrasi; grandchildren, Brady Bracken, Bret Misrasi, & Angie Perry.
Diona was born in Grace Idaho, on June 6, 1942, to Harvey George Mace & Iona Nielson. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1960. She was an extraordinary woman who made friends easily, and touched the lives of so many. To know her was to love her.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she held many callings in Primary, Young Womens and Relief Society. She looked forward to visiting teaching with her fellow sisters. Diona was President of Box Elder County Credit Union for 27 years. She was a strong female leader that took great pride in growing the Credit Union from a small starter credit union to operating at several branches county wide, serving tens of thousands of members with her credit union family.
Diona had a passion for service and was a proud member of the Utah Credit Union League Board of Directors, Box Elder Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, Utah Credit Union Lobby, & The Brigham City Community Hospital Board.
Diona enjoyed gardening, Utah Jazz, cooking, softball, golf, sewing, dancing, card games and traveling. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and her close lifelong friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Encompass Hospice Services, the staff at The Gables, staff and residents at Maple Springs & Brigham Community Pharmacy for the care and friendship they showed Diona.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the Brigham City 14th Ward building, 650 Anderson Drive, Brigham City, from 10:00 to 11:30 am, followed by funeral services.
Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Cure Foundation: (www.alzcure.org) or Primary Children's Hospital (give.intermountainfoundation.org/primary-childrens-hospital)
